We fly to Lukla and begin trekking through the land of the legendary Sherpas into the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park. Since the successful ascent of Everest, the Khumbu region has enjoyed international attention. We will follow the footsteps of Tenzing Norgay, Hillary, Bonnington and Messner. We follow the classic trail to Namche bazaar, Khumjung, Pangboche and Lobuche to the Everest Base camp and go on to Kalapattar. From Tengboche to Pangboche (3,985 m) the trail rises through meadows where yaks graze. After touring the monastery we set out and cross the Lobuche Khola to arrive at Periche.
After crossing the moraines of the Changri Shar Glacier, we reach the sandy plain of Gorakshep. Then we climb up amongst large boulders to the broad summit of Kalapattar (5,545 m), which offers the best view of Everest and Khumbu Glacier. Whether it may be called Everest, Sagarmatha or Chomolongma, the highest peak of this planet is stunning to behold. The trek will end at Shyngboche or Lukla andfly out to Kathmandu.
Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going to fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.
Itinerary:
Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) and transfer to hotel as per intinerary
Day02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley as per intinerary, O/N in hotel in Kathmandu.
Day03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m), and commence to trek to Phakding(2830m)., 3hrs walking, O/N in lodge/Tent.
Day04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3410m), O/N in lodge.
Day05: Rest day for acclimatization, O/N at Namche Bazaar.
Day06: Trek to Tyangboste(3890m), 5.5 hrs.
Day07: Trek to Dingboche(4345m), 4hrs
Day08: Trek to Labuste(4910m), 4hrs
Day09: Trek to Gorokshep(5180m), 4.5hrs.
Day10: Rest day for hiking to Kalapattar/Everest Basecamp, 4hrs/5.5hrs, O/N at Gorokshep
Day11: Back trek to Pheriste(4250m), 4.5hrs
Day12: Trek Tyagboste, 3/4 hrs
Day13: Trek to Namche Bazaar, 3hrs
Day14: Trek to Monjo/Phakding,3/4.5hrs
Day15: Trek to Lukla, 3hrs, O/N in lodge
Day16: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel,
Day17: Free day in Kathmandu
Day18: Final departure from Kathmandu for your further destination
