Annapurna Base Camp with Chitwan National Park
The Annapurna Himal is a vast massif of several peaks above 7,000m high, known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, ringed by such giants as Annapurna I (8091m), Glacier Dome, Gangapurna, Fang and the Machhapuchare peak or the Fishtail. During the trek, we visit the marvelous viewpoint of Poon Hill before descending to the Modi Khola valley and into the gates of the Sanctuary.
Passing directly below Machhapuchhare, we have a couple of days to explore the amphi-theater before returning to Pokhara via a different route. This is a fairly strenuous alpine trek that gives the fitter walker close-up mountain views Barha Shikhar (7647m) equal to any in the Himalayas along the Tharpu Chuli or Tent Peak.
Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going to fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.
Itinerary:
Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) and transfer to the Hotel.
Day02: Sightseeing tours in Kathmandu Valley (major cultural sites).
Day03: Drive/fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (870m), transfer to hotel in
Pokhara
Day04: After Breakfast drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (40 Km north-west
of Pokhara)
By private transport/Taxi, trek commence trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m),
3/4hrs > Walking.
Day05: Trek to Ghorepani(2850m), 6hrs
Day06: Excursion to Poon Hill(3200m) and trek to Tadapani(2740m),6/7hrs
Day07: Trek to Chhumrong (1950m), 5/6hrs
Day08: Trek to Dovan(.(2250m) 6hrs
Day09: Trek to Himalaya Hotel
Day10: Trek to MBC (Machhapuchre Base Camp)(3750m), 3.5hrs
Day11: Trek to Annapurna Basecamp(4100m), 2.5hrs
Day12: Trek to Dovan, 6/7hrs
Day13 Trek to Chhumrung, 6/7 hrs.
Day14: Trek to Ghandrung village (1940m), 6/7hrs
Day15: Trek to Birethanti, 3hrs. It's final celebration of the trekking.
Day16: Trek to Nayapul (1000m), 45 minuts and drive to Pokhara and transfer
to the Hotel in Pokhara
Day17: Drive to Chitwan National Park, 5hrs driving, O/N hotel in Chitwan.
Day18: Full day wildlife activities such as Elephant back safari, Jungle
walk, Canoeing, Bird watching, Culture program in the evening etc...
Day19: After Bird watching in the National park breakfast then drive to
Kathmandu by tourist bus/car, 6hrs or fly to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel
in Kathmandu
Day20: Free/sightseeing day in Kathmandu
Day21: Final departure from Kathmandu
